Doraku Sushi & Sake Bar: Round Two. Earlier entry: Oct. 21, 2012.
A no-rice roll can be no less filling or flavorful for its lack of grains. For a juicy crunch, try the combo of thinly cut cucumber wrapped around tuna, salmon, squid, shrimp, crab, seaweed & kaiware sprouts, topped with garlic aioli & flying fish roe.
Sea bass, crisp & meaty, marinated in yuzu chili ponzu & served with cilantro & pickled veggies.
It's rare for Japanese eateries to excel in burgers, but this behemoth is spectacularly succulent. Egg & wafu dressing make it even more enjoyable.
Prefer your beef unprocessed? These mighty ribs, also insanely tender & meaty, might be your best bet, though the RM88 price tag can seem steep.

Might not be springtime right now, but this cherry blossom sakura ice cream makes it feel like it.
Doraku serves exquisite sake, smooth & mellow but resonant in flavor: Love the Kubota Ginjyoshu Manjyu (RM48 for 90ml, with a fascinating hint of banana maybe) & Kiku Masamune Junmai Taru (RM68 for 300ml).
Open daily for lunch & dinner, with a first-floor alfresco lounge.
