Tsukitei @ Taman Tun

Tsukitei has taken over from Mizu at Plaza TTDI, making nearly no changes in the decor.

Comfort food is the watchword here, epitomized by the chicken-&-potato complimentary starter.

Foie gras rolls (RM40+) come recommended, well-filled with lovely liver.

Another can't-fail: salmon carpaccio with roe, avocado, garlic & spring onions (RM40+).

Soft-shell crab maki, crisply meaty. Pity that Tsukitei seems so emptied of patrons; in another location, this restaurant might thrive.

Pumpkin tempura (RM20+), a true treat for fans of this golden gourd.

Teppanyaki duck breast with sesame sauce (RM45++). Sadly, the meat tastes past its prime.

Wrapping up on a positive note: warm, soft omelet-coated eel.

Sake is available, as is wine (but only by the bottle).
