Momentum for the burger revolution keeps building: Following in MyBurgerLab's high-profile footsteps, here's another potential hot spot for fans of burger brilliance.
Calorie-counters might flee in terror from Burger Junkyard's Texas Hold Me (RM14.90, no taxes): An Australian beef patty sandwiched with beef bacon, cheddar, onion rings & smoked BBQ aioli. Tastes like the most voluptuous street burger ever.
Char-grilled beef with caramelized onion chutney, balsamic raisin sauce, pan-roasted tomatoes, steamed aged cheddar & garden greens (RM15.90 for a 90-gram patty, RM19.90 for 180 grams). Get messy: no cutlery supplied, so everything's finger-lickin'-fantastic.
Comparisons between MyBurgerLab & Burger Junkyard might be inevitable, but both outlets possess their own merits. No charcoal buns at the Junkyard, but the fresh buttered brioches here remain no less addictive.
Burger Junkyard swaps minced meat for boneless chicken thighs to make its brine-cured chicken patties, like this one with celery sticks, sour cream & buffalo hot sauce (RM14.90).
Our fave: The Brooklyn Burger (RM15.90), succulent beef/chicken with smoked turkey ham, beef bacon, grilled pineapple, tomato, onions, fried egg, cheese & aioli. All burger prices include a hearty helping of fries & Burger Junkyard's own special sauce.
Vegetarian burgers are available. This Ratatouille one's something special, with its soft, savory stew of tomato concasse, onions, aubergine, zucchini, capsicum & Burger Junkyard's signature steamed aged cheddar, which features in every burger here.
Rats! This Junkyard's filled with them; fun to play with while waiting for the food.
On the bright side, the wait here shouldn't take more than 15 minutes (for now). Plus, there's a 10 percent discount off all burgers as an opening promotion this month.
