Harrods has opened a street-level, semi-alfresco cafe at KLCC, complementing the first-floor Harrods restaurant that's been popular in this mall for nearly four years.
The cafe has a marginally more casual vibe compared to the restaurant; a bustling deli is the centerpiece here, bristling with bread, pastries & cakes.
Entry on Harrods Restaurant: April 20, 2009.
The cafe menu is extensively different from the restaurant's. Customers can create their own sandwiches with a choice of bread, fillings & dressing. This seafood-stuffed one features smoked salmon & pink prawns with papaya vinaigrette in ciabatta.
Salt beef & roast beef (RM10 per portion of each) with curry mayo & piccalilli in white batard. Assembled to order, so it takes awhile to come.
A showcase of sweets, almost impossible to choose from without agonizing a lot.
Treacle tart, steeply priced at RM12++, but that's the nature of Harrods, where the restaurant upstairs charges RM16++ for a single scoop of ice cream.
Raspberry-jasmine creme brulee, interestingly scented & flavored.
Wine is available, as are coffee & cocktails, so thirst can easily be conquered here.
