Less than a month after it opened, Moxie has become a fast favorite at Plaza Damansara with its creative menu, affable service and an understated, intimate ambience. One warning though: Don't sit too close to the air-conditioner, coz it can get pretty chilly!

We couldn't resist the blue crab slaw wrapped in salmon gravlax, which had the mushy texture of baby food, with a grilled peach salad.

The Welsh Rarebit Foie Gras was also a hit with melted cheese on a toasted brioche with candied walnuts and pear.

Decadence was the theme for the succulent Moxie Burger, which came with another chunk of foie gras and fabulous fries.

Medium-rare Australian Black Angus pasture-fed ribeye beef. This was the only hiccup in our meal. We ordered a filet mignon but were served this instead. Still a fine piece of meat.

The Marquise De Moxie was a nice surprise. Not dried out like many restaurant cakes tend to be, this comprised moist layers of chocolate mousse, flourless cake and Chantilly cream.

A complimentary Valrhona chocolate lava cake with vanilla lime ice cream and brandy snaps. A cliche at most places now, but Moxie's version was so perfectly prepared, it reminded us of the first time we fell in love with this dessert.
