Hardcore, Kaw Kaw & Darabif Burgers

Burger binge! Crisscrossing the city for some meaty behemoths, starting with Hardcore Burger, a street stall that's grilling a nifty name for itself in Taman Tun.

Hardcore's eponymous burger boasts two beefed-up patties made by the stall's amiable owners that stack as high as an iPhone 5. The meat might be a mite mushier than some prefer, but it should still satisfy the carnivorous tooth.

Hardcore's duck burger is also a delight, dripping with succulent sliced meat. Our sole possible complaint is that the bread & the sauces taste too typical.

Hardcore Burger operates nightly. Lamb, chicken & fish burgers, also available.

More street burgers: Can't leave Burger Kaw Kaw out of the list.

The Kaw Kaw "burger bakar" phenom has flourished in Wangsa Maju, Ampang, Puchong & Taman Mayang Jaya, spawning countless imitators. This Double Beef Baconizer Cheezy, with its awesomely chunky patties, explains why.

Chicken Turkeynizer, featuring a juicy thigh fillet. Kaw Kaw's burgers must be laden with calories, cholesterol & sodium, but they're satisfactory enough to try at least once.

Leaving the streets & heading into Wisma Cosway, where Darabif dishes out diverse burgers.

We sought to maximize our pleasure with Darabif's double-patty Maxi Moo, but the patty tasted too processed for our liking, scarcely a step up from luncheon meat.

For something evocative of street specialties, the Burger Malaysia comes wrapped with egg & paired with grated cabbage. Close, but we're keeping our cigar.

Lamb Glam, gamy glam, with an onion mint sauce that tastes like BBQ sauce.

The Hot Chick features too-salty chicken patty & chicken ham, with a mildly spicy sauce.

In the end, the saving grace of sorts. Darabif's fish burger's OK, with a fillet fresher & flakier than expected _ though truth be told, we like Mickey D's equivalent equally.
