Societe @ Starhill

A decent choice for anyone plotting a secret rendezvous at a deserted dinner venue.

Societe's menu features everything from nasi lemak to spaghetti, but we opted for an all-Chinese meal, kicking off with fairly fragrant Hainanese chicken rice.

Pursuing that theme, since I'm half-Hainanese, we tried the Hainanese resthouse-style chicken chop. Crisply battered on the outside, tender within.

The other half of me is Hakka, so this Hakka Choy Poh bee hoon was a logical order. Served steaming hot & not overly oily, with lots of flavorsome ingredients.

Ginger wine chicken soup, surprisingly aromatic. It's kinda sad that the crowds shun Societe in favor of Jogoya on this floor of Starhill; the food here is worthwhile & the service is brisk.

Wine is available by both the bottle & glass at reasonable prices.
