House Frankfurt

Underrated & often overlooked amid the throng of Telawi's flashier eateries, House Frankfurt specializes in satisfyingly unpretentious German fare.

Pork knuckles & sausages are the menu's mainstays, but it's worth exploring adventurous recipes like this cold pickled herring with boiled potatoes, sour cream, onions & gherkins. Could be too salty & slimy for some though.

Beef tenderloin tartar. The lighter flavor & moist creaminess of minced uncooked beef with a raw egg yolk are ideal for evenings when a 300-gram medium-rare steak seems too much to tackle.

Berlin-style pan-fried beef liver with onions & mashed potatoes. A whopping serving that should be shared, especially if the gamy taste of liver isn't a turn-on for you.

Chianti Claccico.

Santa Margherita Pinot Grigio.

Jaegermeister & Williams.
