La Bibliotheque

La Bibliotheque: Round Two. Earlier entry: April 8.

Most customers come here for pub grub and booze, but the cakes deserve an honorable mention. These sweet sensations include exceptionally rich, alcohol-laced ones, such as this white & dark chocolate cake with moist, plump raisins soaked overnight in rum.

American chocolate cake layered with bitter chocolate and enhanced with Cointreau liquor. Cakes don't get much creamier than this.

This cheese cake would be delicious even if it were purely plain, but the topping of caramelized cashew nuts adds a lovely crunch that takes it to the next level.

Tiramisu sponge cake brushed with coffee syrup and layered with mascarpone cheese filling & grated chocolate, then coated with almond praline.

Triple-layer chocolate mousse (white, milk & dark). Wonderfully soft and smooth, but here's a lesson to remember: five slices of cake might be too much for two people to share in one sitting.
