Bonne Grey @ Menara Hap Seng

Back to Bonne Grey, which seems to be passing the endurance test at Menara Hap Seng.
Earlier entry on Bonne Grey: Oct. 11, 2011.

The menu has expanded, with creative entries like this zesty ravioli (RM19.80++), stuffed with roasted tomatoes & mozzarella, soaked in burnt butter & orange sauce.

Spaghetti's satisfactory too, with savory sesame sauce & a whole meaty soft-shell crab (RM19.80++).

Veggie lasagne (RM16.50++), with potent herbal notes making up for its meat-free virtue/vice.

Not everything's rosy here though; the soy-marinated baked butter fish (RM19.80++) is hearty but salty, coupled with couscous that's lumpy.

Count on classics: Caesar salad crammed with croutons & chicken, & creamy pumpkin soup.

Pastries & sweets fare well; the paprika prawn quiche (RM6.60++) feels fresh & buttery.

Olive oil raspberry cake with ice cream & choc raspberry tart. Quite good, actually.

Love the creamy, no-sugar-added Belgian chocolate mousse (RM8.80++) ...

... but the orange poppy seed cake (RM6.60++) scores lower on the memorability scale.

Bonne Grey's thoughtfulness extends to desserts that might be healthier than the norm, like this low-sugar orange pecan scone with house-made strawberry jam (RM3.30++).

Finish with a not-bad carrot pecan cake with white chocolate cream cheese frosting.

Bonne Grey,
