Palazzo @ Cheras

Cheras is a neighborhood that frightens and bewilders us, but Palazzo is the rare restaurant for which we'll make the effort to venture here.

It's possible to find foie gras in Cheras; sure, the crust isn't caramelized enough, but the liver's flavorsome and fairly priced for 50 ringgit.

Roast pork (RM18), its sinful succulence balanced with a crisp side salad. Nice crackling.

Grilled pork neck (RM18), deliciously marinated. A divine bar snack, this would be.

Palazzo is rightfully proud of its applewood-smoked duck (RM25), tinged with Chinese herbs. Fans of fowl will likely love this.

Palazzo's pork burger (RM18) has a twist: a pork fillet instead of a processed patty.

The piece de resistance: gargantuan, caveman-worthy pork ribs. Messy to eat, but worth it.

Palazzo boasts a fairly impressive wine selection. If more restaurants like this open in Cheras, we'll have to head here more often.

The restaurant wasn't too crowded on a recent Saturday night. Nice for a peaceful evening.
